When I was 8, I wanted to be a teacher. I tried to convince my 8 year old friends to be my ‘students’. Needless to say, not many of them wanted to play school, no matter how great teacher I was. Luckily, I was undaunted and this passion for sharing knowledge has followed me through my whole life.
Today, I teach mostly clay related things - but I do still love my fibre arts so I also offer an eco-printing retreat.
My jam is technical throwing; I adore sharing my love of the wheel and what it can do. I offer on-off introduction workshops, week-long intensives, and this winter, I’ll be hosting a six week residency. And twice a year, in partnership with fellow Canadian ceramicist Emma Smith, I run retreats that are a mix of ceramics, cooking, and culture.
