So you’d like to learn something, while living la dolce vita in Tuscany Italy. You’re in the right place.
When I was 8, I wanted to be a teacher. I tried to convince my 8 year old friends to be my ‘students’. Needless to say, not many of them wanted to play school, no matter how great a teacher I was. Luckily, I was undaunted and this passion for sharing knowledge has followed me through my whole life.
Today, I get to share what brings me joy with people like you. And I get to work with other teachers and makers who want to share their joy too. It’s an amazing life. And we want to share it with you.
We offer three types of experiences in a variety of different media;
Intensives - Mostly focused on learning, intensives are designed to teach the most amount of content in the shortest amount of time. Intensives appeal often to people who also work, who want to add new skills to their toolbox quickly, and want to do that in a beautiful place. This year, all of our intensives are ceramics based intensives.
Retreats - Balancing culture, cooking, and making, retreats are for those wanting to learn about not only the topic at hand, but also the culture and cooking of Italy. Retreats appeal to people looking for a culturally rich holiday where they also strengthen their skills. We have ceramics, fibre, and writing retreats.
Residencies - Collaborative and communal, residencies are independent deep dives into one’s own practice. The longer duration lends itself both to quiet introspection and deep interpersonal connection. This year, our residency is for ceramicists.
If you’d like to see all of the experiences in chronological order, please see our calendar.
If you’re a creative yourself, and you have a different idea of something you’d like to see/do/learn, reach out and let’s see what we can make happen! If you are looking to grow as an artist, I also offer creative coaching and self-directed studio residencies.
